The Bride Eileen Lee, a 31-year-old writer and psychiatrist The Groom Dean Lin, 33, a health-care exec The Date May 1 Three months after their blind date, Eileen and Dean set up the anxious-ridden parent meeting. But in this case, their parents' chemistry duplicated the couple's own. Everything happened at warp speed, says Eileen. At the English Rose Garden in Palos Verdes Peninsula (one of Eileen's favorite L.A. retreats), Dean got down on one knee and proposed to his love-at-first-sight sweetheart.

The Ceremony Decor
Eileen's bridesmaids wore floor-length satin dresses by Jim Hjelm.
Once Eileen laid eyes on the Sundance Resort outside Salt Lake City, she could envision her springtime, red-infused wedding. She explains, It's a place where one can truly be inspired to produce great works. And great weddings. The urbanites wanted to update the look of the rustic space, yet not overwhelm its natural simplicity.
After they exchanged vows, Eileen and Dean joined guests already sipping mango and lychee martinis at the Rehearsal Hall. The 150-person party was immediately blown away by all the bright red: Hundreds of large, round red Japanese paper lanterns decorated the ceiling, with a dragon kite in the center of the room. Red rice-paper parasols hung upside down, chandelier style, above the dance floor. The couple also experimented with contrasting shapes.
Red place cards, fashioned like fortune cookies, rested on rectangular burgundy napkins.
The couple handcrafted tissue packets for guests using vintage Asian prints.
Drawing inspiration from their favorite Asian restaurants (Tao in New York City, Eurochow in L.A.), Eileen and Dean created an Asian fusion theme -- complete with Chinese reds and Western whites -- to honor their Taiwanese background and love for blending cultural elements.
