Eastern Orthodox Ceremony

“We had a traditional Eastern Orthodox wedding, in the church that I was baptized in, by the priest who baptized me,” Laila says. Their ceremony included the Dance of Isaiah, in which the priest places jeweled crowns on the bride’s and groom’s heads, symbolizing them becoming king and queen of their family. They then we walk around the altar three times hand in hand with the maid of honor and best man.
