Dramatic Floral Arrangements Filled This Rooftop Wedding at The Joule in Dallas, Texas

Andra Chapman (31 and a luxury manager) and Evan Gonzalez’s (36 and a vice president of investments) wedding served as a celebration of love—past, present and future. “My mom has passed away, and planning a wedding without her was overwhelming,” Andra says. To make sure mom’s presence was felt, Andra snuck her mother’s signature ladybugs onto the suite and into her bouquet, a cascading mix of orchids and roses with an ombré effect. The couple also raised $20,000 for Vogel Alcove, her mom’s fave charity, instead of favors. Andra and Evan made things social on the rooftop of The Joule, complete with the iconic eyeball sculpture peering behind guests.  A dramatic hanging installation of amaranthus in shades of pink marked the spot where everyone danced. The neon sign bearing the couple’s hashtag nearly didn’t make its place on the ombré flower wall. “Hours before, I noticed our name was spelled wrong,” Andra says. Luckily, a last-minute fix by their planner kept things glowing. The tablescapes were kept minimal, finishing their modern marble-patterned chargers with clean, white linens and understated menus. Just in case guests weren’t full from the confetti cake with vanilla toffee crunch icing, the couple also served banana trifle, doughnuts and late-night chicken and waffles.
