Dogs Stole the Show at This Romantic Wedding at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California

Delia and Gordon's romantic wedding at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California, was filled with elegant details, a dreamy blush-and-ivory color palette, and an abundance of adorable puppies dressed in wedding-ready attire. For their intimate wedding, the couple kept the guest list small but lovingly invited their guests to bring furry friends to enjoy the big day alongside their humans.

When it came to deciding on the look and feel of their wedding at Calamigos Ranch, Delia and Gordon knew they wanted something romantic, elegant and enchanted. "We have always envisioned to have a magical enchanted wedding style," says Delia. "Upon gathering ideas and building a mood board through Pinterest and Instagram, we came down to finalizing ivory and blush pink colors to match perfectly with our waterfall- and forest-themed venue. With both our backgrounds of Chinese descent, we spoke Cantonese and English throughout the entire wedding hoping to express our deepest feelings in the language we are most familiar with." To bring their enchanted vision to life, the couple leaned heavily into floral decor. "Flowers played an important role in our wedding. Our main ceremony and reception area had an over-the-top arch surrounded by greenery and a waterfall. Our goals were to create an elegant classic feeling which would not seem outdated looking back many years from now. The talented florist Jina from De Flora decorated the arch with numerous amount of garden roses, hydrangea and eucalyptus. She also incorporated my favorite poppy on the bouquet and the centerpieces. Our wedding cake was simple but elegant, we had a tree trunk patterned white cake and she added flowers and white orchids which complimented the arch perfectly. The guests were amazed by the overall elegant decorations and floral designs." Beyond planning a visually stunning wedding, Delia and Gordon also ensured their wedding was a festive, puppy-approved event by inviting their guests to bring four-legged friends. Delia and Gordon's own pups were also involved in the wedding and dressed to the nines for the occasion.

Looking back on the day, Delia shares that "planning an unconventional wedding due to the pandemic felt really special and unforgettable for both of us and our guests. Not only did our guests and vendors have to arrive three hours prior to the ceremony for a rapid Covid-19 test, we also spent a lot of time preparing additional face masks, mask bags, shields, hand sanitizers, and gloves for our guests hoping to create a safe environment for all participants. The most memorable moment was when the officiant talked about the meaning of marriage; gazing at my significant other, my friends and my family touched upon my heart. We shed tears of joy and were grateful to everyone who came for our special day in the midst of a pandemic. It was truly an experience and we cherished every single moment we had together with our guests."
