One Couple's "Fiesta Garden" Wedding at Greenhouse Two Rivers in Highlandville, Missouri
What Samantha (Sam) calls her “fiesta garden wedding” to Oswaldo (Waldo) all came down to picking the right blooms. “Our palette was bright and colorful,” Sam says. “Most of the day’s décor came from the flowers.” Luckily, she had some floral experience under her belt. “I worked at Zuzu’s Petals for four years, so I teamed with Cindy, the owner, who brought my vision to life,” Sam says. Vibrant peonies, roses, zinnias and pincushions in shades of red, orange and pink brought the party.
Sam set the tone for the day with cheerful stationery, which she designed herself. As with the day of, bright flowers played a starring role in the suite. Another project Sam ran point on: collecting 108 decorative blue and white patterned vases in the months leading up to the wedding.
Sam and Waldo went neutral with their wedding party’s attire. While Waldo’s guys rocked shirts and ties, Sam’s gals wore shades of nude. “I gave them a palette, and they found the dresses,” Sam says.
A mariachi band welcomed guests to cocktail hour under a bright orange balloon installation, and later kicked off dancing at the reception. Ghost chairs and minimal tablescapes allowed partygoers to focus on the garden vibes, heightened by the lush greenery and flowers. “With it being a greenhouse, it felt like you were standing outside,” Sam says. “The glass allowed for a beautiful, natural view.”
