Denise and Scott met on the first day of school -- Harvard Law, that is. Scott held the door open for me, and it turned out we were walking to the same classroom, Denise remembers. I was actually the first new person he spoke to that day. THE BRIDE Denise Villeneuve, 28, attorney THE GROOM Scott Murray, 30, attorney THE DATE August 31 A year and a half after the two graduated, Scott led Denise on a tour of the school campus. At each of the different places special to their relationship, he gave her a dozen roses -- and an engagement ring at the last, the very door that he'd held open on that first day. The couple soon began planning a wedding to take place nearly five years to the day from that first meeting, in the city they'd come to call home.

Two months of dance lessons certainly paid off -- It set the mood for an incredibly fun reception where everyone danced! Denise says.
Upon their return to the reception, Denise and Scott kicked off the party with a fast triple swing to I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch) by The Four Tops.
Denise wore an A-line gown in white silk organza with a beaded band at the waist by Wearkstatt.
The gorgeous gold ballroom of the Gamble Mansion, where both the ceremony and the afternoon reception were held, inspired the feeling of the day. The ballroom is so ornate, with its gold walls and impressive chandeliers, we did not have to do much to the space to make it seem beautiful and elegant! Denise says. For the ceremony, guests sat in gold chairs on either side of an ivory aisle runner, while for the reception, a more informal setup took over. Centerpieces featuring gold, yellow, and white flowers sat atop ivory linens, and the doors to the ballroom opened so that guests could stroll outside and enjoy the warm, sunny weather.
The three-tier cake had two layers of vanilla cake with white chocolate ganache filling and one layer of chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling. The top two tiers were decorated with fresh daisies.
