The couple grew up in the same small Connecticut town and attended the same elementary school and middle school, parting only briefly for separate local high schools. They even wound up at the same college -- St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia -- though it was purely a coincidence. It wasn't until their first date, however, over iced coffee at Dunkin Donuts, that a romantic spark was ignited. Soon after graduation, on a beautiful day in early May, Ted dragged Darryl out of bed for a stroll at a local park. Ted was doing an awful lot of relationship reflecting, Darryl says, remembering that he kept saying they were ready for the next step of their relationship. Darryl agreed. Of course, [I was] clueless that the next step was only moments away! A year later, the couple exchanged vows in a historic church in Ted's childhood summer vacation town of Cape May.
