A friend's mother often told Danielle Sayeski that she knew a man who'd make a perfect match for her. Though it took several months to orchestrate the setup (since Danielle lived in Atlanta while Colin Smeeton resided in Miami), once it finally happened, Danielle and Colin hit it off immediately. THE BRIDE Danielle Sayeski, 25, insurance underwriter THE GROOM Colin Smeeton, 28, sports agent THE DATE October 11 Though the geographic separation complicated their dating life, Danielle and Colin made it work for a year and a half before Colin's proposal during a sunset picnic dinner on Key Biscayne. After enlisting the help of a professional wedding planner (With my parents in Ohio, me in Atlanta, and Colin now in DC, it was a must! When the day of the wedding at last arrived, guests headed to St. Michael's on Fernandina Beach for the traditional Catholic ceremony. Although the wedding-day rain was a disappointment, it actually made the ceremony very cozy, Danielle says. The groomsmen formed a human canopy with umbrellas as guests entered the church, which had been decorated with candles and bouquets of fresh wheat. Danielle and Colin's officiant, a close friend of the family, traveled from Ohio to perform the ceremony. He knows us well and was able to personalize the homily, which made the ceremony even more special, Danielle says.
