"I had this vision of my bridesmaids in maxi skirts. I looked everywhere for one that was both attractive and reasonably priced, but couldn’t find what I was looking for. It hit me that I could just make exactly what I wanted myself for a fraction of the cost," says Ashley. "I found a pattern for the maxi skirts, fabric and a family friend in Dothan to make them. After the skirts were made, my mother and her girlfriends in Houston hand-sewed the handmade vintage scalloped lace trim to each skirt."
