Kate and Nick were brought together by mutual friends…and their four-legged friends. After they were introduced, the couple’s love for dogs gave them an instant connection. It’s no surprise that their first date was at the dog park, with their white Boxer and chocolate Lab. The four instantly bonded! The Bride Kate Streitmatter, 30, teacher The Groom Nick Galardini, 30, implementation manager The Date May 23 Kate and Nick dated for two years before getting engaged. They had discussed marriage a few times, so Kate was suspecting something and Nick wanted to catch her off guard. “He had planned to propose after dinner, but when we got to the restaurant, he couldn’t stand the wait and actually proposed in the car!” says Kate. They chose a fresh navy-and-lime color scheme with a country inn theme for their outdoor wedding.

Kate carried an all-white bouquet of peonies, sweet peas, and lisianthus with natural stems wrapped in satin ribbon and an heirloom pin her grandmother used to wear during the holidays.
The navy cotton ribbon on the square programs matched the ribbons from the couple’s invitations. They continued the lime green monogram trend on the front of the cards.
Guests gathered in a grassy area of The Oaks, known as “The Point”, overlooking the water. A lattice arch covered in ivy framed the couple, while a bed of rose petals led them down the aisle.
White Floral Centerpieces
The bride spotted escort card ribbon boards on TheKnot.com and loved the look so much, she made them herself with navy, white, and lime green grosgrain ribbons. The cards themselves mimicked the square shape of the programs and also included the couple’s monogram.
Lime-green Swiss dots gave a fun pop of color to the white cream cheese icing. White pearls of icing puddled around the base of each tier and a green icing monogram and full white peony tied the wedding details into the confection.
