Colorful Wrightsville Manor Wedding in Wilmington, NC

Cadie Foresta (27 and a corporate meeting planner) and Ian Edwards (31 and an account manager) honored each of their identities with their wedding day

Cadie Foresta (27 and a corporate meeting planner) and Ian Edwards (31 and an account manager) honored each of their identities with their wedding day, combining her love of colorful blooms and family ties with his British roots. “We meshed our cultures as much as we could,” Cadie says. “His groomsmen wore Union Jacks on their socks, and we ate fish and chips hors d’oeuvres.” In Cadie’s honor, the couple decorated Wrightsville Manor with her fave flowers and paid tribute to her mom, who passed away a month before the wedding. “I felt her throughout the day when I needed her,” Cadie says.
Partygoers found their spots by checking out the acrylic signage with black calligraphy. Throughout the night, everyone snapped pics in a vintage green Volkswagon van. Cadie and Ian chose bud vases and amber bottles for the tables and filled them with roses, goldenrod, foxglove, mums and eucalyptus alongside brass candlesticks. “The flowers added that boho feel,” Cadie says.
Garlands of colorful flowers and candles framed the manor’s dramatic mantel and marked Cadie and Ian’s spot. The couple honored Ian’s favorite soccer team, Norwich City, with a green and yellow groom’s cake bearing the Premier League team’s flag. Beyond cake, guests chose from several miniature-size treats, including cheesecake in flavors like tiramisu and Key lime, and pies from lemon meringue to chocolate.
