A Colorful Lakeside Indian-Christian Fusion Wedding at Walloon Lake Country Club in Petoskey, Michigan
With its stone fireplace, wraparound porch and prime waterfront location, Walloon Lake Country Club was a fitting choice for Carrie and Dheeraz “lakeside elegant” fusion wedding. The couple embraced a flower-forward approach with botanical stationery, floral garlands and punchy arrangements of ferns, spray roses, cosmos, stock, lisianthus and golden glory solidago. Gerbera daisies, garden roses and ranunculus lent a pop of color to Carrie’s bouquet. “I had my heart set on a blush wedding dress, and this one fit the bill,” Carrie says of her organza and tulle gown. “We wanted it to feel like a northern Michigan wedding while still honoring my husband’s culture,” Carrie says of incorporating Indian traditions throughout their wedding weekend, including a festive sangeet that took place the day before the ceremony. Raspberry gin cocktails hinted at the groom’s nickname, Raz .Buttercream icing and a cascade of colorful blooms covered the couple’s lemon-rosemary and hazelnut-flavored cake. Once the party was in full-swing, guests refueled with late-night naan bread pizzas.
