Despite overlapping for a year, Colleen and Mahmoud didn’t meet at Colby College, a small school in Maine. Instead, a mutual friend introduced them while they were living in New York City. A few months later, Colleen moved into her friends’ apartment building—only to find that Mahmoud lived on the next floor! They started dating shortly after.
