Classic New England Wedding at the Tokeneke Club
Taylor Willis (28 and head of global marketing and communications) and Andy McLaughlin (29 and an analyst) didn’t connect until a friend’s birthday party after college, but the duo later learned that they were actually in the same first grade class in Darien. The pair took it back to their hometown for their seaside soiree, which included elegant coastal details and sentimental touches (like their pup, Nellie, named for their shared alma mater, Bucknell University) woven into the celebration.
“Our wedding colors were inspired by the blue and green ocean shades often seen at the Tokeneke Club,” the pair says. “The bright pink accents were drawn from the sunsets.”
The groomsmen showed up to the ceremony by boat, walking right off the jetty and continuing down the aisle.
The reception centerpieces paired elegant orchids, greenery and succulents with pieces of raw driftwood to create a unique aesthetic. Guests enjoyed signature cocktails (including one aptly named You and Me G&T), while a Caribbean steel drum band played. The reception venue boasted a retractable roof, so the couple opted for hanging greenery, which they say “helped the space feel natural and fluid.”
The couple swayed to “Only Wanna Be With You” by Hootie & the Blowfish, which they chose on trip after their engagement.
