Classic, Elegant Details Infused This Farm Wedding in St. Louis, Missouri

Anna and Elizabeth “Liz” are  fans of the outdoors and St. Louis’s fall weather, and opted to celebrate both during their October wedding. “Kuhs Estate and Farm checked all of our boxes,” Anna says. “It’s a beautiful landscape on the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers and close enough to the city that it wouldn’t be a major trek for our guests.” Rather than sticking to a hard-and-fast color palette, Liz and Anna kept three words front and center when making design decisions: simple, classic and elegant. Loved ones took in some fresh air with a ceremony under trees, followed with yard games on the lawn during cocktail hour. Arrangements with hanging pepperberry, craspedia, amaranthus and scabiosa, and velvet lounge furniture created a cozy autumn atmosphere. Fresh rosemary marked each seat. Cheesecake frosting covered the vanilla bean and chocolate cake along with pincushion, mums, ranunculus, waxflower and more. “I never imagined that our ‘gay marriage’ would be accepted and celebrated,” Liz says. “I have never felt the joy and pride that I felt as I watched my beautiful soon-to-be wife coming up over the hill with my biggest supporters sitting in front of me to witness our commitment to one another.”
