Christy Hernandez and Mark Koenig's Spanish-theme wedding day was influenced by their heritages: Christy is part Mexican, and Mark is part Dominican. THE BRIDE Christy Hernandez, 32 THE GROOM Mark Koenig, 31 THE DATE May 17 While threading spring colors such as light and dark blue with touches of violet throughout the wedding-day details, Christy and Mark were sure to turn their spring soiree into a formal and fun fiesta.

A huge crystal chandelier hung in the middle of the ballroom. Beneath that sparkly chandelier, lots of energetic dancing took place to the sounds of a salsa and merengue band (which alternated every half hour with a DJ who provided more traditional music).
Christy and Mark wed at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 3 p.m. with a full Mass. Guests were seated at pews decorated with hydrangea spilling out of small galvanized buckets. Two hours later, a reception began at the Washington Golf & Country Club.
The Cake
Christy wore a silk organza strapless gown; her bridesmaids wore full-length black gowns of their choosing.
