Christen and Brady met one Sunday morning, when Christen and her sister happened to attend the Sunday school class that Brady was teaching at her church. They’d both been attending that church about a year, but had never laid eyes on each other until that morning. At the end of the class, everyone wrote their names and phone numbers on index cards, and the cards were redistributed with the assignment of contacting another class member that week. Brady made sure he wound up with Christen’s card -- and as Christen says, “from then on, the calls just never stopped!” The Bride Christen Palmer, 21, business student The Groom Brady Raanes, 25, financial consultant The Date June 3 Later, Brady invited Christen to tag along with him on a business trip to Miami. When they arrived, they went out to dinner and then for a walk on the beach. After a while, they decided to sit down and Brady pulled out a blanket and a CD player to put on some music. “He asked if I wanted to dance, which was not out of the ordinary so I thought nothing of it -- he’s quite a romantic,” Christen says. The first song they ever danced to (Bobby Darin’s “Dream Lover”) came on, and Brady told Christen that there was one thing he wanted to change about her -- her last name. “I was shocked and excited and said ‘yes’ several times!” Christen says. Then Brady told her he had another confession to make -- there was no business trip, and they were leaving for a cruise to the Bahamas the next morning!
