Chic Multicultural Minnesota Wedding

Raquel Flores (34 and a flight attendant) and Jared Davin's (32 and an investment banker) wedding had all the trappings of a chic urban celebration: a black-and-white palette, fuchsia roses and a gold-flecked vanilla buttercream cake. But this was no buttoned-up formal. "During dinner, we played a game where we picked a couple's name out of a had and they had to teach us how to kiss," Raquel says. "Then we mimicked them." A limbo contest and late-night outfit change into Filipino attire, in honor of Raquel's heritage, also kept guests on their toes.
Raquel wore a layered organza ball gown embellished with dragonflies and a crystal-trimmed cathedral veil. Foil-stamped invites and calligraphed black envelopes set the tone for the glamorous affair.
Tall trumpet vases holding peonies, roses, hydrangeas and ranunculus sat on striped tablecloths. Menus promised beef short ribs and chicken roulade. Streaks of fuchsia on cards and signage matched the invitations. The newlyweds dance to "Home" by Michael Bublé. "As a flight attendant, you always get asked where you live," Raquel says. "When I was traveling the world, I always used to say, 'home is where Jared is.'"
