A French Château-Inspired Wedding at Magnolia Hill Farm in Centerburg, Ohio
For their wedding, Lauren and Michael turned a working flower farm in the heart of Ohio into a cozy old-world retreat. “We love all things French, so we drew inspiration from country châteaus, with lots of candlelight and decorative details,” Lauren says. Wild foliage, climbing vines, potted plants and a blue, green, lavender and slate color palette set the mood, while details like the seating chart and cake drew textural inspiration from old stone walls.
Lauren and Michael married in front of an overflowing altar of ruscus, nandina, smoke bush and roses. A framed photo of Michael’s late father sat in the front row. Roses, lisianthus, ranunculus, eucalyptus and sweet pea vines filled the centerpieces, while candles added a romantic glow. Gold wax seals finished off the letterpress invitations, which were printed on handmade paper and wrapped in a silk ribbon.
The newlyweds cut into a vanilla, sugarplum and spiced carrot cake with white chocolate ganache. Sugar flowers and cracked fondant on the exterior mimicked moss-covered stone.
