Carey & Mattson in Gruene, TX

Carey and Mattson had met casually long before they dated. They finally got together at a concert at Gruene Hall, the oldest dance hall in Texas, and it was after a night out at another concert there that Mattson proposed to Carey. What better site could there have been for their music-filled wedding reception? THE BRIDE Carey Anne Millington, 27, on-site wedding coordinator and floral designer for the Old Glory Ranch; Mary Kay consultant THE GROOM Joel Mattson Rainer, 34, program director KGNB/KNBT Radio THE DATE October 24 Carey and Mattson were engaged nearly two years before the wedding, giving the bride plenty of time to plan. Though she didn't choose a specific theme, Carey knew just what she wanted. Being that our ceremony was in October, there were so many great colors I wanted to take advantage of -- berry colors, salmon, mango, and lots of reds -- to create a very warm and inviting environment, Carey says. She also used lots of candles to emphasize this feeling. The bride adds it all up by saying, warm, vibrant colors + candlelight + the perfect sunset + an amazing chapel = an unforgettable wedding ceremony!
