Caitlyn & Kon in Littleton, CO

Their roommates were dating each other, so it was only a matter of time before they met. “He thought I was a babe with brains, despite my whining about studying for biology,” Caitlyn remembers. “I liked his tattoo and his Ukrainian accent!” From that first meeting, the two made an extra effort to make their roommates’ relationship work—so they could see more of each other. Soon enough, Caitlyn and Kon started dating on their own, and a year and a half later, Kon snuck into Caitlyn’s house while she was studying at a friend’s place. He lit candles everywhere, put on a CD of love songs, set out a bouquet of roses, and cooked dinner. “When I came home, I noticed that lights were on in my house and prepared to find a robber,” Caitlyn says. What was waiting was definitely a much more pleasant surprise -- Kon, all dressed up and ready for romance. “I couldn’t resist his charm,” Caitlyn says. Five months after he popped the question with a diamond and sapphire engagement ring, the two wed in the bride’s hometown.
