As a special addition to their ceremony, the couple released butterflies. “The butterflies have such special symbolism,” Aja says. “They represented our new lives together: profound transformation, resurrection, joy and happiness. There are old sayings that if you whisper wishes or blessings to butterflies, they will carry your messages to the heavens. There were lots of special wishes on our wedding day.”
