Alex Milligan (27 and a pediatric clinical pharmacist) and Ryan Koons (29 and a community living manager) took involving family in your wedding to a whole new level. An entourage of eight neices and nephews served as wedding attendants, Ryan’s sisters threw the couple a “Bro-dal Thunderstorm,” instead of a bridal shower and Alex’s sister took charge of the favors. “Our biggest joy throughout the entire process was growing even closer to our families, and watching our two families become one.” In another homage to family, the groomsmen wore enamel butterfly pins to honor the memory of Ryan’s late mother.
Dancing is a big part of Ryan’s family life (they grew up with kitchen dance parties), and the wedding was no exception. “At all of my siblings weddings we have incorporated a family dance. So of course for our wedding we incorporated our own family dance to ‘Love on Top’ by Beyonce,” he says. little ones With so many youngsters attending the wedding, the couple made sure to have a kids table with coloring books, games and snacks.
