When it came time for the pair to start their life together, things got a speedy start. Within 24 hours, Patrick wrapped up his semipro hockey career, brought home a yellow lab puppy and popped the question to Alison. "We joke that it took us 10 years to get there, but when Pat finally decided he was ready to dive in to the next chapter in life, he dove in and dove in big by getting a fiancee, a puppy and a new chapter in life all in 24 hours," Alison says.
