Brenna and Bruce planned a springtime soiree infused with pink and green, lush peonies, and lots of hometown Kentucky flavor. The Bride Brenna Trimbur, 27, pharmaceutical representative The Groom Bruce Kleinsteuber, 29, corporate financer The Date May 29th The summer before Brenna's senior year of high school she saw (from afar) her really tall, kind of scruffy, and so cute husband-to-be. At a friend's party she got the nerve to talk to him. After basically just an introduction, I was smitten, recalls Brenna. A few more chance meetings, a first date, and then another, and the rest is history. Their wedding weekend included lots of, as Brenna calls it, Kentucky-ish details. From the gift bags for out of town guests filled with lots of hometown flavor like derby pies, mini bottles of makers mark, and chocolate bourbon balls, to the Day at the Downs, a day of horseracing at the Churchill Downs.

Peonies!! I love peonies because they are so romantic, so lush and full, but so fragile at the same time, says Brenna. The bride's bouquet was made up of (you guessed it) light pink and cream peonies interspersed with stephanotis.
Instead of traditional numbering, Brenna and Bruce named each table for a different Kentucky Bourbon. Guest enjoyed sumptuous food with French-style service. The French-style was a great touch -- it was formal, but still had 'family style' feeling, says Brenna.

The Couple
The four-tier vanilla cake with strawberry preserve filling was made by Brenna's cousins in their Chicago bakery and driven all the way to Louisville for the wedding. The delicious dessert was adorned with sugar peonies, fondant ribbon, and Brenna and Bruce's logo (two intertwined B's).
The Bride
The couple said their I Do's on the porch of the Georgian style mansion at Locust Grove.
Continuing with the Kentucky theme, Bruce and Brenna gave their guests the gift of luck in the form of authentic horseshoes gathered by Brenna's father at the Churchill Downs.
