Rich Canzano is quite the catch -- literally. While he and Breean Julian were vacationing at her family’s home on a lake in Minnesota over Fourth of July weekend, the two went for a ride on her grandfather’s fishing boat for some quality time. Breean’s family assumed she and Rich had gone fishing, but Rich had something else in mind. The Bride Breean Julian 28, The Groom Rich Canzano, 31 The Date June 11 Once they had settled in a special spot on the lake, he presented Breean with his grandmother’s ring and asked her to be his bride. They immediately sped back to shore to share their excitement, and Breean ran up the dock with her hand in the air to get her family’s attention. Her mother called back, without realizing what had happened, “You caught a fish?” Yes, she certainly had.

Guests dined on appetizers of crab cakes and mesclun salad, followed by an entree of orange-roasted chicken breast with asparagus and garlic-mashed potatoes.
The confection was three square tiers of vanilla cake filled with raspberry preserves, all topped with white frosting and garnished with real flowers.
The reception unfolded at Oyster Harbors Club, a secluded golf club on the bay. The locale was an obvious choice, the bride says, because “both Rich and I grew up on the water and we were engaged on the water.”
To complement the lush pink setting surrounding the day, Breean’s five bridesmaids wore A-line tea-length dresses from After Six.
Breean’s Marisa gown was one of the first few she tried on, but as she kept shopping, she knew it was the right one. “I would go to other bridal salons, but nothing compared,” Breean says. It featured an empire waist and dramatic beading and detail.

“I wanted the arrangements of the bouquets and the colors to blend and flow together naturally, gracefully,” Breean says. “When I saw the peonies for the season, I fell in love with the different shades of pink.”
To add an even more personal touch to the reception, Breean painted 18 pictures of Minnesota lakes to name each table. “Each lake chosen had a special meaning or marked a special place,” she explains.
