The night that Bonnie agreed to go out to a club with her friend, she met Andy, who’d also been dragged out by his friends. They talked all night, and two weeks later, went out on a first date. The Bride Bonnie Morack, 26, floral designer The Groom Andy Melin, 27, project manager The Date June 20 Bonnie had a feeling something was up when she suggested they watch a movie one cold February night, but instead Andy wanted to take a walk along the river. They parked the car and walked down a snowy hill, right to the river -- that’s when Andy proposed. The couple decided to have their wedding near Andy’s parents’ lakeside cabin, so even though both families live in Wisconsin, it was a little bit of a destination wedding for everyone.

Peonies in shades of pink hung from shepherd’s hooks along the aisle. The ceremony took place on a pier overlooking Hoinville Lake. Guests with white parasols helped complete the setting’s idyllic look.
The couple’s floral designer decorated their ceremony arch using pink fabric and ribbons, black Baccara roses, red hanging amaranthus, and pink peonies -- some of which Bonnie’s friends had grown for the occasion.
Pink table runners and napkins decorated the long dinner tables at the reception. Monochromatic arrangements of tulips, roses, peonies, and lilies dotted down the center gave the tables a fresh, summery look.
Bonnie and Andy borrowed apothecary jars from friends and filled them with white, pink, and red candies as a sweet take-home for their guests.
Bonnie and Andy used the leftover paper from their invites to create the place cards. Guests’ names were hand-written onto all the place cards and stamped with a pink peony.
Each bridesmaid carried a variety of roses, including garden roses, sweetheart roses, and spray roses, in coordinating shades to match their dresses.
Pink and red roses were placed between each tier of the square, buttercream-frosted wedding cake.
Bonnie wore a strapless, satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and ruching. She accessorized with a simple veil and a classic bracelet and earrings.
Bonnie carried two bouquets. During the ceremony, she walked down the aisle with an all-white bouquet of pearl-centered stephanotis, lilies of the valley, roses, sweet peas, peonies, freesia, tulips, and cymbidium orchids. Once the couple exchanged vows, she switched out the all-white one for a colorful rose bouquet.
Rose petals in shades of red and pink covered the ceremony aisle, and at the end of the aisle, rose petals were arranged to form the letter “M,” for the couple’s last name. A red ribbon prevented guests from walking on it as they arrived.
Using a template she found online, Bonnie printed the wedding programs on ivory card stock and assembled them herself. The programs fanned out, so guests could use them to cool off during the outdoor wedding.
The couple served lemonade, strawberry lemonade (Bonnie’s favorite), and raspberry lemonade (Andy’s favorite) during the cocktail hour and after dinner. Fresh fruit and a handmade label tied with pink ribbon finished off the pretty drink table.
