Boho Meets Southern Charm at Greenville, SC Wedding
Much like Greenville itself, Julianne Orr (29 and an oncology clinical pharmacist) and Charlie Darling (32 and an emergency medicine pharmacist) wanted their wedding to combine quirky, colorful bohemian style with classic Southern formality. “Greenville is the town where we first met,” Julianne says. “It’s a beautiful city, and we wanted to reflect that.” In that spirit, an illustration of the Liberty Bridge marked the invitations, while jewel-tone ranunculus and peonies filled the Huguenot Loft.
Julianne and her bridesmaids carried a vibrant mix of peonies, sweet peas, ranunculus and roses. The couple, who admits they aren’t major cake fans, chose flavors to honor the cake eaters in their life: a top tier of butter pecan because it’s Julianne’s dad’s fave, middle tier of lemon with raspberry compote for her mom—known for baking lemon muffins—and a bottom of salted caramel because, as Julianne asks, “Who doesn’t love salted caramel?”
The newlyweds made their getaway in Charlie's mom's blue 1973 Mustang. "It was the best colorful nod to our personalities," Julianne says.
