Blue and White Cleveland-Inspired Wedding in Cleveland, Ohio
Jennifer and Ryan are full of Cleveland pride—and their wedding day was proof of that. “When we met, we really bonded over being from the Great Lakes, so we knew we had to get married overlooking Lake Erie,” Jennifer says. A Cleveland native, Jennifer worked with Ryan, a diehard Michigan fan and native, to not only make the city feel like home over their years together, but also to fill their wedding with CLE-inspired touches. Custom Cavs-colored napkins and a starring role at the ceremony for their pup, the aptly named LeBron James, known as Bronny, celebrated the place they call home. Guests even took toothbrushes labeled “welcome to the land.”
Watercolor peonies, roses and lisianthus brightened the invitation suite, while an illustration of Bronny added a lovable personal touch to Jennifer and Ryan’s custom crest. Blue floral tablecloths, bursts of yellow orchids and hanging greenery framed what Jennifer calls the “biggest conversation piece:” the dance floor. “We wrapped our dance floor with our custom wedding logo in the center,” she says. “Our goal was to keep everyone on the dance floor, and we accomplished it.” Later, guests wore light-up flower crowns and neon glasses as they sipped cucumber coolers, the party’s signature drink, from frosted cups finished with the wedding logo.
“We chose ‘Coming Home’ by Leon Bridges for our first dance because it reminded us how special it felt when Ryan returned home from deployment,” Jennifer says. A rainbow of yellow orchids, fuchsia roses and purple larkspur topped tables and filled bouquets. Real flowers appeared to be growing straight from the watercolor-painted leaves on the cake’s buttercream frosting. Bronny made another adorable appearance on the couple’s frosted cookie favors.
