One Couple's Block Party Wedding on East Council Street in Salisbury, North Carolina

Aurelia and Jonathan know how to have a good time, so it only made sense for their wedding to be the ultimate celebration. “We called our theme block party—emphasis on the party,” Aurelia says. Trolleys transported guests from the church ceremony to the downtown reception, which Aurelia and Jonathan filled with sidewalk chalk art, a confetti toss entrance and light-up wristbands.

 Guests stepped o the dance floor and up to trucks offering everything from margaritas and wine to pulled pork and ice cream. “We wanted everyone to have a variety of options,” Aurelia says. Aurelia and Jonathan surrounded the DJ booth with displays of different sentimental song lyrics, including stanzas from “XO” by Beyoncé and “New Year’s Day” by Taylor Swift. “We wanted to fill the reception with personal touches,” Aurelia says.
