Beth & Mark: A Fall Wedding in Columbus, OH

Beth Ralston and Mark Miller were graduates of the same college. They were also coworkers and friends for four years before they began dating in 1998. People say some of the best things are often right before your eyes, says Beth, and that was exactly the case for Mark and me. She and her sister Megan were enjoying a leisurely tour of the town's magnificent waterfront mansions, and one of the homes featured woodwork bearing intricately carved acorns and oak leaves. Beth learned that the acorns were meant to symbolize luck, and the oak leaves, strength and longevity. The imagery, Beth realized, had similar significance in the context of her relationship with Mark, her longtime love.
