A Destination Wedding at Barcelo Tucancun Beach Resort in Cancun, Mexico

Rachel Gladue (29 and a teacher) and Gary Gladue (29 and an electrician) had overcome five years of long distance while Gary played professional hockey, and had been together almost nine years when Gary proposed. Rachel’s parents invited the couple over for dinner, and just before supper, Gary got down on one knee. It was so meaningful for Rachel that her dad was there for the proposal because he was battling aggressive prostate cancer. In order for him to be able to attend the wedding, the couple planned a destination wedding six months following their engagement and were lucky that their close friends and family were all on board. The couple got married at the Barcelo Tucancun Beach Resort in Cancun, Mexico. The resort staff organized the flights and a wedding coordinator to make it easy on the couple, and Taliah Leigh perfectly captured the day. The ceremony and reception took place on different terraces overlooking the beach. “Our wedding was casual, laid back and a lot of fun,” says Rachel. The newlyweds danced barefoot beside the ocean all night with their friends and family.
