Backyard Lake Wedding at a Private Residence in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Denise Ferrero, 29, in the Collegiate Rowing Co., and Kevin Ferrero, 31, a programmer, both ran their very first marathon in Disney World at the same time, but didn't know it until 15 months after when they were introduced through a mutual friend. After discovering their mutual love for random items and interests, like shamrock shakes and sky diving, they started dating and were together since. Denise and Kevin had their wedding in the backyard of a friend's private residency in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that had an island in the middle of the lake. On the island, there was a bar and gazebo that the couple thought would make the perfect place to have a romantic outdoor wedding. After having the ceremony, where there were programs folded into paper airplanes that hinted what was to come, family and friends were brought to the island across the lake by helicopter for the cocktail hour and reception. "We had an aviation and travel theme going for our wedding," says Denise. "Kevin owns a sea plane and has been a pilot for many years." The couple chose an orange and navy colored palette for the wedding day decor, flowers and linens that complimented the fall seasonal backdrop.
