Autumn & Jack: A Fall Wedding in Tulsa, OK
With help from their consultants and the colors of fall as their guide, Autumn Little and Jack Garcia planned an evening of elegance for their friends and family. The Bride Autumn Little, 26, restaurant manager The Groom Jack Garcia, 29, naval aviator The Date September 10 Had it not been for unpredictable Midwest weather conditions, Autumn and Jack may have never met. Luckily though, Jack and two others were diverted from their New Orleans destination during a Navy flight to Tulsa, OK, due to inclement weather. After finally tracking down a rental car, a hotel, and dinner, the three decided to make the best of their circumstances and check out the Tulsa nightlife. Despite his preconceived ideas about Midwesterners, Jack says he was pleasantly surprised that he was having such a good time and meeting so many friendly people. But it wasn’t until the end of the night that Jack’s night got really exciting. “The bar was closing and I was saying goodbye to my new friends when a tall bright green-eyed girl entered,” Jack says. Though the bar was closed, Jack and his new friends convinced the owner for one more drink. It was during that drink that the green-eyed girl pulled up a stool next to Jack. “I haven’t let her out of my sight since,” Jack says. While aboard a cruise on the USS JFK, Jack bought the engagement diamond in the United Arab Emirates. And so it was two years after their first weather-permitting meeting, that Jack proposed to Autumn over dinner. “I was going to be cool and ask over dessert,” Jack remembers. “As it turned out, two bites into dinner I couldn’t take it anymore and crawled over to her on my knees and proposed.”
