One of the first things Ashley revealed to Ivan when they met at a wine bar where she worked was that she loved doing missionary work in Africa. Ivan was intrigued and kept coming back to the bar to see her. After a month of working up the nerve to ask Ashley out, he made his move, and just in time -- his friend also had a crush on her! It was a tearful goodbye, although Ivan secretly couldn't wait for her to leave so he could put his plan in action! He hopped on a separate plane to Kenya (the trip took over 30 hours!) to surprise her. When he arrived at the camp, an employee told Ashley she was needed in the office, which is where she found Ivan standing in the doorway. He wasn't up for long though, getting down on one knee to propose after an emotional reunion. She was shaking! Ivan says. Six months later, he and Ashley held their green-and-brown themed reception on top of a parking garage (yes, really!).
