David pulled out all the stops when planning his proposal to Ashley. The two were scheduled to attend a party at Ashley’s coworker’s home, so he rented a fantastic suite at a posh hotel, decorated it with thousands of rose petals, and made arrangements to pop the question after the party. When he overheard Ashley making plans to meet friends for a bit of late-night bowling, David took drastic measures to remedy the situation: He feigned sickness. “That’s when things went downhill fast,” David remembers. “Ashley began to protest to the point of tears.” Her tears were quickly replaced by surprise, though, when they pulled up to the hotel. Inside the suite, David had arranged a sort of photo scavenger hunt that led her through various rooms before ending up in the bedroom. Her eyes filled with happy tears when she found David on one knee with a ring in his hand. “Before I could even get the words out she screamed 'yes!'” David says.
