An Ashford Estate Fall Wedding in Allentown, New Jersey
The easiest decision Angela and Thomas made when wedding planning was choosing the date. “I’ve always wanted a fall wedding,” Angela says. “The weather is great, the colors are bright and there is so much décor inspired by the season.” As soon as the pair saw photos of The Ashford Estate’s tree-lined grounds during the fall, they were sold. They channeled autumnal vibes with their color palette, picking ranunculus and dahlias and attire in shades of burgundy and orange, and added natural notes with wood signage.
The couple’s florist topped the barn’s floor-to-ceiling fireplaces with garden roses and chrysanthemums. “The fireplace was the very first thing you saw, and we were blown away,” Angela says. Angela and Thomas took their cake to the next level by incorporating their favorite desserts into the tiers, including layers of cannoli cake and fudge filling. The newlyweds also sent guests home with black and white cookies, Angela’s favorite.
Partygoers chose between two creative sips: The Dirty Pirate, Thomas’s rum and ginger beer cocktail named for East Carolina University, and The Tangela, Angela’s tequila drink of choice, named after the pair’s college nickname. The couple went decidedly traditional with their invitation suite, picking burgundy paper, gold foil and calligraphy. “We wanted a warm, inviting look with colors inspired by the season,” Angela says.
