Ashaki & Embry in Jekyll Island, GA

They started out as study buddies during their junior year at Emory University, but after Ashaki asked Embry to go see The Nutcracker, their feelings started to take center stage. A year later, they spent New Year’s Eve in Maine, touring the lighthouses along the snowy coast. One night, back at their cozy bed-and-breakfast, Embry sat Ashaki down by the fireplace while he went to get her Christmas gift. Ashaki closed her eyes and held out her hands, expecting an iPod Nano. Then Embry started talking about their future and she opened her eyes. He was on his knee holding a beautiful ring in an amazing custom made ring box with our initials separated by a pink tulip (my favorite flower) engraved on it. It was perfect! says Ashaki.
