Artistic Indian Wedding at Grounds for Sculpture in NJ
Paisley Singh (28 and a software engineer) and Joe Plantamura (28 and works in client success for point of sale software) wanted their wedding to transport guests to the storied land of Westeros. “We envisioned a sort of Game of Thrones meets Indian fantasy fusion,” Paisley says. A storybook- like tour convinced the couple to choose Grounds for Sculpture as their venue. “The first thing we saw was a snow-covered peacock,” Paisley says. “It was beautiful and magical—just what we wanted.” On the day of, the wedding party rocked Indian attire, and dragon eggs sat next to the cake.
A peacock-inspired palette of deep blue, ruby red and emerald green with Indian- inspired décor, including gold elephants and lanterns, brought an international vibe to the industrial space. Paisley carried a warm mix of eucalyptus, thistle and ranunculus down the aisle. The newlyweds entered the party wielding swords, accompanied by a traditional drum-beating tassa band. “We loved seeing everyone dancing when the band came on,” Joe says.
