Andrea had just quit her job as a magazine editor to pursue a career as a freelancer and decided she needed some extra income. “When I took a job as a cocktail waitress at a hot downtown night spot, I never dreamed I would meet my future husband!” she says. Kevin was the manager of the bar where she worked. “At first I was intimidated and would wonder what we’d talk about during those long shifts,” she remembers. “Soon, it was all I could do to wait until the next Wednesday when I could talk to Kevin!” The Bride Andrea Lopez, 29, freelance writer The Groom Kevin Miller, 30, caterer The Date October 28 One Monday night, after dinner out with Andrea’s parents, the two headed home. As soon as they got in, Kevin hopped right out of the car and ran inside. When Andrea came in the door, she saw a picture of the bar where they’d first met -- then the T-shirt they’d worn as a uniform there. Following a trail of mementoes, through the window she spotted a gazebo that “until that day had been in a box in the garage waiting to be assembled,” she says. It was covered in lights, and in the center of it was Kevin on one knee, asking Andrea to marry him.
