The Bride Andrea Matthews The Groom Keith Sholders The Date July 15 Andrea Matthews (who’s now 27 and an adaptive physical education teacher) and Keith Sholders (now 29 and a physical education teacher and wrestling coach) had been dating for seven years when they planned a trip to Florida for a Bahamas cruise. “About two days before the trip Keith had a very serious talk with me about how he hoped I wasn’t expecting him to propose during the trip,” she says. “He didn’t want me to be disappointed.” With the pressure of an impending proposal gone, the two headed south for a relaxing vacation. While they were getting ready for a night on the town, Keith decided to go out and get a newspaper. When he returned, they went for a sunset walk on the beach. As they strolled along, Keith suddenly stopped and looked down toward the water, and Andrea followed his lead. “I looked down and saw ‘Andrea, will you marry me?’ written in the sand,” she says. “I was in total shock!” At their wedding a little more than a year later, they had a sand ceremony in lieu of a unity candle.
