An Urban, Classic Wedding at Liberty Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York
Kristen DeMarco (28 and an interior designer) and Dano DeMarco (28 and a general manager at an architectural firm) met at the start of their freshman year at the University of Scranton. It wasn't long before they started dating and their journey together began. On a weekend trip to North Fork of Long Island, Dano proposed to Kristen. They ordered a lot of takeout food and opened a bottle of wine when Dano wrote on the cork, "will you marry me?" With Kristen being from New Jersey and Dano from Long Island, they thought a Brooklyn wedding would be the perfect midpoint. They had a traditional ceremony at St. Peter's Church and held their reception at the Liberty Warehouse. Kristen describes the warehouse as "a raw space located on Pier 41 in Red Hook with amazing views of the Statue of Liberty and the NYC Skyline." They chose to have a classic but still casual wedding style with a navy and orange color palette. Their bouquets were mostly a mix of roses, dahlia, freesia and succulents. The reception was decorated with blue tables and various blue and orange hydrangea centerpieces. Adding a rustic element, they turned a vintage suitcase into a card holder. Kristen and Dano rented a food truck filled with all different candies to park outside their reception for guests to enjoy as they head to the after party.
