An Ultra-Fun, Carnival-Inspired Barn Wedding at a Private Residence in Boulder, Wyoming

Tara Bolgiano (30 and a wedding photographer) and Kristopher Holmes (29 and a biologist) met on the street. “He would drive past me running our ranch road on his way to work every morning,” Tara says. “The reason I caught his attention was because I was running in a neck brace after fracturing my neck in a car accident. One day he just pulled over and asked me out! I guess he found stubbornness attractive.” Kristopher proposed on the same ranch where they met with a Dr. Seuss quote and a gold ring. The couple wanted more than a party for their wedding, they wanted a carnival. With 400 guests, they tried to make it as fun and casual as possible. Inspired by the Wyoming flag, they used red, white and blue as their color palette and added rustic accents such as feathers, tumbleweed and driftwood. The couple served a milk-can dinner out of feed troughs, which guests had to sing a couple lines of a love song to get. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the couple had a pinata to match the carnival theme. Although it rained, they didn’t let it stop the fun. “Our day was wild, wet and wonderful,” Tara says.
