Colorado natives, Jenn and Adam led parallel lives for years before falling in love. They went to rival high schools, knew many of the same people, and even met once at a college party. It wasn't until four years later, at a mutual friends' birthday party, when they felt an instant connection. That summer, they spent every free moment together before Adam returned to law school in Oregon. Concerned that a long-distance relationship wouldn’t work, they decided to let things cool. But after reconnecting over fall break, they knew it was meant to be. The Bride Jenn Elliott, 26, a registered nurse The Groom Adam Blake, 28, a tax attorney The Date August 30 After two years of long-distance dating and another year together in Seattle, Adam decided to pop the question during a picnic lunch at Jenn's favorite park. The couple returned to their home state a year later for their vintage wedding with a mix of French and American nautical details.

Jenn incorporated yellow, her favorite color, into the classic white-and-navy nautical look by using vintage vases and vibrant floral designs.
Guests took home glass jars filled with yellow M&Ms as favors. Jenn found the jars at World Market and personalized them with the couple’s initials and wedding date.
Adam and the guys pinned clusters of bright yellow craspedia to their lapels.
Jenn chose a dress that flattered all of her bridesmaids. The ladies loved the pockets which were perfect for carrying tissues, lip gloss, and cameras. Bright yellow bouquets of roses, orchids, and craspedia popped against the dark navy dresses.
