The couple met during a summer internship and two years later, Eric happened to move a few blocks away from Joy in Dallas. The Bride Joy Vick, 25 and an accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers The Groom Eric Hadden, 25 and a landscape architect at Dunaway Associates The Date March 6 “Eric and I didn’t want a cookie cutter wedding, because we aren’t cookie cutter people,” Joy says. They chose a deep plum color with silver accents.

Joy's friend baked the three-tiered Funfetti cake, decorated with handmade lilac-chocolate buttons.
Bright purple hydrangeas went nicely with the purple-ish gray bridesmaid dresses and the decor.
Along with the bouquets as centerpieces, Joy bought little bud vases to hold white ranunculus and baby’s breath.
Joy carried an all-white bouquet of peonies, Lily of the Nile, hydrangeas, ranunculus and lisianthus. “I LOVED my bouquet!” she says. “It was just what I was hoping for.”
Cone-shaped pages (from joy's grandmother's old hymnal) were filled with rose petals, which guests tossed on Joy and Eric as they made their exit.
Joy purchased 10 lanterns that sporadically dotted the tables. They were similar to the ones lining the aisles at the ceremony; a tiny detail that Joy carried throughout.
