Abigail and Dustin met in the dorms at Ohio University. The two dated while at college and then long-distance after graduation until Abby moved back to Columbus. One Wednesday evening after she had returned from working at a summer camp, Dustin took her out for ice cream and then for a walk around Goodale Park. The Bride Abigail Arenstein, 26, a first-grade teacher The Groom Dustin Braun, 27, in property management The Date June 13 As they were getting ready to leave, Dustin whispered a proposal into Abby’s ear. Because they’re Columbus natives, they wanted a reception space that would showcase the city. When they discovered the rooftop deck at the Columbus Renaissance Hotel, they booked it immediately!

The couple’s number-one goal was to show off the city they love. With a view of downtown Columbus from their ceremony space, Abigail and Dustin did just that.
Abby wanted something elegant yet trendy for her bridesmaids, so she decided to go with three different styles and shades of purple. The guys wore classic black tuxes.
Purple Ceremony Decor
It was only fitting that Abigail show off a pair of purple sling-back, peep-toe shoes under her ball gown.
Abby’s mom spent hours making welcome gifts for all the guests. The purple boxes, labeled with red tandem bicycles, were filled with snacks and even Advil for the next morning.
For the cocktail tables, roses, baby’s breath, and stock were gathered together into classic silver julep cups.
All of Abby’s bridesmaids held bundles of fresh purple hydrangeas to match their dresses.
A huppah draped with white chiffon and accented with hydrangeas and roses defined the space where the couple exchanged vows.
Abby’s favorite shades of purple colored the details at this city wedding. Another motif to thread their details together? Tandem bicycles that appeared on their stationery and cake.
Keeping with their bicycle theme, Dustin surprised Abby with pedicabs to bike them and their families around the city for photos after the ceremony.
Instead of having traditional table numbers, each table was marked with a different bicycle illustration.
The three-tiered cake was covered with fondant and trimmed with purple ribbon. Sugar-made purple flowers and a small tandem bicycle cake topper finished it off.
