Though they had known each other for a couple of years, Kristi and Adam didn’t exchange numbers until a mutual friend’s birthday party. And though friends affectionately ribbed them because of their dramatic difference in heights (she’s 5-foot-3, he’s 6-foot-8), Kristi and Adam knew they were the perfect fit. The Bride Kristi Harbin, 29, hospice social worker The Groom Adam Schwegman, 29, commercial leasing representative The Date April 25 Several years later, Adam planned a surprise getaway in the quaint community of Serenbe, where they biked and relaxed all weekend. Adam proposed after a hike to a small waterfall. Then he surprised Kristi again with lunch with her parents. The couple soon began planning an intimate, green-themed celebration in the bride’s hometown of Atlanta.

A sweet little garden area beneath a Japanese maple tree served as Kristi’s and Adam’s ceremony spot. Soft pools of rose petals lined the aisle.
Green apples added an earthy touch to the green Fuji mum and white dendrobium orchid arrangements that hung from the ceremony chairs.
Recycled Mason jars held flickering candles and sat on beds of green moss. Soft blue table linens provided a burst of color beneath the earthy arrangements.
Kristi and Adam bought saplings and wrapped them in cool blue-and-green fabric for their guests. The couple even snagged a few to plant in the yard of their first home!
The musician for the evening, Davis Sandling, played “Green Eyes” by Coldplay for the couple’s first dance.

Kristi carried a bouquet of luscious white garden roses and bells of Ireland.
Antique lanterns, lit with flickering votive candles gave the reception tables a rustic look.
The bride’s father found a tree stump and cut it into the perfect platform for the couple’s three-tiered square cake. Kristi and Adam turned to a friend-of-a-friend to bake their monogrammed confection topped with fresh flowers.
The bride and groom printed their guests’ names on blue paper and displayed them in a wooden wine crate filled with wheatgrass.
Globe vases filled with moss and candles were attached to sheer ribbon and hung from the Japanese maple at the ceremony site.
A simple, hand-painted sign directed guests to the couple’s outdoor celebration.
