Jordan Jancosek and Jacob Wishart met on the swim team in college. “I thought Jacob was a big weirdo and just wanted to make out with the ‘pretty new girl on the team’—his words, not mine—at a swim team party,” Jordan says. But that wasn’t the whole story. “He sat down with me one day at dinner in the dining hall when he noticed I was sitting alone," she says. "We ended up chatting for three hours, realizing how well we got along.” After nearly 10 years of dating, the "Harry Potter"-loving couple tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony at Larz Anderson Park in Brookline, Massachusetts, followed by an industrial-chic reception at Metropolitan Waterworks Museum in nearby Chestnut Hill. Warm rose golds, subtle blush peaches and pinks and simple greenery decorated the space. “I wanted to focus on industrial and vintage,” Jordan says of the reception’s decor, which included whimsical glass-encased book-and-floral centerpieces—a touch that appealed to Jordan, an avid reader and an archivist. "Harry Potter" also played a big role in the day: Guests got a signature champagne drink called the "Felix Felicis," which in "Harry Potter" is the potion that brings the drinker luck. “There were also a lot of mirrors with writing scattered around our venue, which definitely gave it a Hogwarts Castle vibe—we even got to keep one that said 'Mischief Managed,'" Jordan says. The bride's advice for other couples is to enjoy the process. “Don't take the planning so seriously. This should be a fun time you get to experience with your partner. Also, enjoy being engaged and getting free champagne and desserts at bars and restaurants.” —Carolyn Meers

Jordan's wore a diamond engagement ring, and Jacob had a gold wedding band.
"I knew I didn't want anything resembling a traditional bouquet, but I also didn't want long pieces of greenery flowing out of it," Jordan says of her pale peach and pink arrangement by Laura Jean Floral and Design. "It had wonderful pops of color and accent pieces."
Jordan's bridesmaid dresses were a subtle floral pattern. Their necklines differed based on the bridesmaid's preference.
Jordan and Jacob said their vows under a large tree in Larz Anderson Park in Brookline, Massachusetts. Decorations were minimal, allowing the space to be the focus.
Simple, straightforward programs let guests know "what to expect" throughout the evening.

"We fell in love with the reception space the minute we stepped in," Jordan says of the Metropolitan Waterworks Museum in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. "We knew we wanted a cocktail-style reception, and we felt that the space fit that perfectly. Additionally, we're both into history and historical spaces, so getting married in a museum next to old stuff was a big draw."

Instead of traditional floral centerpieces, votive candles were set beside glass-encased book-and-floral centerpieces—a touch that appealed to Jordan, who is an avid reader and an archivist.
