An Organic, Travel-Themed Wedding at Black Butte Ranch in Oregon

A map theme reflected Amy Edewards (37 and a customer service agent for American Airlines) and Tyler Loessl's (27 and works in IT support) love for travel and adventure. Amy is from California, Tyler from New York, they got engaged in Paris, and they got married in Oregon, so they incorporated maps as much as possible—from the invitations to the centerpieces and decor. A palette of navy and champagne was classic and timeless and played off the colors of the maps perfectly. The couple were married against a stunning backdrop of aspen trees with the snow-capped Three Sisters Mountains in the background, which meant they needed little in the way of decor. "We loved the view and really just wanted people to enjoy it and focus on that beauty," Amy says. Coincidentally, before they started dating they both attended a wedding Black Butte Ranch. It's where they had their first dance! "Once we got engaged there was really no question about where it would be," Amy says. The reception that followed was full of fun, interactive experiences that fit in with the day's carefree, adventurous vibe. Guests had fun making s'mores by a fire pit and helping themselves to a DIY ice cream sandwich bar. —Meghan Overdeep
