An Organic Plantation Wedding at the Legare Waring House in Charleston, South Carolina

Bethany White (33 and an attorney) and Douglas Druckman (31 and an insurance professional) were each other's last attempts at meeting someone online. Despite previous bad experiences, the couple immediately connected and became serious after just a few dates. Bethany had a feeling that an engagement was looming and any time Douglas suggested they do something special, Bethany's first response was "Are you going to propose?!" Because of her inquisitive nature, Douglas decided to pop the question during the only time he knew he could catch her off guard—on a random Tuesday night right before they placed an order for burritos. During their three-year engagement, Bethany and Douglas planned a charming South Carolina wedding at the Legare Waring House in Charleston. The venues lush green trees and rustic, southern- inspired their natural green and brown color palette. "We kept it simple with earth tones and pops of gold from my champagne dress," says Bethany. In keeping with a natural, rustic theme, the couple went with minimal decor, opting to let the venue's natural beauty shine. Organic green arrangements of scabiosia, silver brunia, poppy pods and succulents popped against the chalkboard and wood accents. "We complemented the large old oak trees and Spanish moss with lanterns, cafe lights and tea light candles," says Bethany. "We were married in Charleston on Labor Day Weekend, so our primary concern was making sure it would be comfortable in 90-degree heat and 100% humidity!”
